The Islamic State (ISIS) announced via their official media wing on Tuesday that the son of Ibrahim Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi was killed in east Homs recently.
According to the terrorist group’s statement, Huzheifah Al-Badri was killed by the “Al-Nusayriyah” (sectarian reference to the Alawite sect) and Russian forces near the Thermal Power Station in the eastern countryside of the Homs Governorate.
No further details were released about Huzheifah Al-Badri.
In the photo released by the Islamic State, the Huzheifah Al-Badri appears to be a teenager.
ISIS has been bogged down by the Syrian Arab Army near the T-2 and T-3 pumping stations in rural Homs for several months now.
Most recently, the Islamic State several casualties while trying to breakout of their small pocket in the Badiya Al-Sham region, which is located along the provincial border of Homs and Deir Ezzor.
The younger son of the Islamic State leader was likely killed in this violent battle, as the Islamic State forces ended up suffering heavy casualties at the hands of the Syrian Arab Army and National Defense Forces (NDF).
