DONALD TUSK’S CALL TO DELAY BREXIT BACKFIRES AS LEAVE VOTERS SEND HIM RESPONSE

PRESIDENT OF THE EUROPEAN COUNCIL, DONALD TUSK, HAS SPOKEN OUT AND CALLED FOR BREXIT TO BE DELAYED.

Mr Tusk claims delaying Brexit is the ‘rational solution’ as a deal between the UK and EU has yet to be agreed.

May is set against Brexit being delayed and has reassured Tusk and the British people of her commitment to deliver Brexit on the 29th March.

Speaking in Egypt, Tusk said: “I can say first of all that Prime Minister May and I discussed a lot of issues, including the legal and procedural context of a potential extension.

“For me, it is clear there is no majority in the House of Commons for a deal, will face an alternative chaotic Brexit or an extension.

“The less time there is until the 29th March, the greater the likelihood of an extension. This is an objective fact, not our intention, not our plan, but an objective fact.

“I believe that in the situation we are in, an extension would be a rational solution, but Prime Minister May believes she can avoid this scenario.

“I can assure you in my meeting with Prime Minister May, no matter what scenario will be, all the 27 will show maximum understanding.”

However, Tusk’s remarks have not one the support of Leave voters in the UK, many of whom would like to see the UK leave the European Union without a delay.

You can easily see why Brexiteers are growing impatient – they voted to leave back in June 2016 and now, nearly 3 years later, the EU is proposing Brexit be delayed less than 30 days before the UK is set to leave!

You could not make this up.

I have no doubt that Mr Farage and his new Brexit Party will do very well in the European Elections if the UK is still a member of the EU at this point.
