NIGEL FARAGE RECENTLY HIT OUT AT A LABOUR PARTY POLICY U-TURN.
The Labour party backed an amendment to allow free movement of people to continue once the UK leaves the EU.
However, in their 2017 party manifesto, Labour promised to end the free movement of people.
Farage ranted at Corbyn’s policy u-turn and declared that millions of voters have been ‘sold out’ and ‘let down’ by his party.
He said while on air: “The Labour party manifesto in 2017, ‘for the many, not the few’, could not have been clearer: ‘freedom of movement will end when we leave the European Union’
“The Labour party tonight who are backing a House of Commons amendment which would continue the free movement of people.
Farage added: “I’m getting a reaction from LBC listeners on Facebook. Theresa says she used to be Labour and will never vote again. James says ‘all my family aren’t voting Labour’. Mark says ‘Labour are sell-outs’. Pete says ‘Labour, never again’
“I’ll bet you the Islington, middle-upper class, champagne socialist Labour Party have no idea how millions of their voters will feel about this complete and utter sell-out and let down of their own voters.”
It’s clear that voters who supported Brexit and voted Labour in 2017 will be less inclined to do so again.
The Labour party outdid all expectations during the 2017 general election which saw Jeremy Corbyn’s popularity soar among young voters.
The Labour manifesto reads: “Freedom of movement will end when we leave the European Union. Britain’s immigration system will change.”
The Government is in talks with Mr Corbyn and his team in an attempt to find a cross-party Brexit solution, however, the government, according to Liam Fox, will not accept a Customs Union despite Labours repeated requests.
