Germany: Antifa extremists brutally assault female real estate employee in her own home

German Antifa extremists invaded the apartment of a real estate employee before brutally beating her as a part of the group’s war against the development of luxury apartments in  Leipzig.

According to police spokesman Andreas Loepki, the pair of far-left extremists punched the 34-year-old women in the face numerous times after forcing their way into her apartment at around 7 pm on Sunday, German tabloid Bild reports.

Loepski added that before the two Antifa extremists left women’s apartment, they said: “Goodbye, ‘Greetings from Connewitz.’”

Connewitz is an area of Leipzig that’s well-known for its association with the city’s Antifa movement.

Recently, Antifa has repeatedly tried to sabotage the construction sites of luxury apartment developments across Leipzig. Last month, the left-wing extremist organization set two cranes ablaze at a construction site run by the same company, causing around ten million euros in damage. The group also burned several excavators at several construction sites in the city during the same month.

Last weekend’s incident, however, marks the first time Antifa has targeted a person in their ongoing campaign of political violence.

Leipzig’s Mayor Burkhard Jung of the Social Democrats has spoken out against the brutal attack, saying: “A line has been crossed: the militant left scene does not even shy away from attacks on defenseless women.

“The idea spread by the extreme left-wing scene, that they only commit violence against things and state institutions, but not against people, has been exposed for what it always was: a lie,” Jung added.

“The rule of law must be applied consistently. We must be careful that in the current debate concerning right-wing terrorism, we do not lose sight of left-wing extremism and its contempt for humanity, which is not inferior to that of the right-wing,” Jung said, warning that if things continued in this direction that political murder wasn’t far off.

Leipzig wasn’t the only city to see left-wing violence over the weekend.

19 police officers were left with injuries in Berlin after hundreds of far-left extremists hurled bottles, stones, and other projectiles at them during a protest against the eviction of groups who are currently occupying low-rent buildings.
