Russian Air Force destroys west Aleppo weapons warehouse to prevent jihadist takeover

BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:20 A.M.) – The Russian Air Force carried out a number of airstrikes over west Aleppo, tonight, targeting several sites that were abandoned by the Turkish-backed rebels.

According to reports from Aleppo, Russian jets flying out of the Hmeimim Airport in southwest Latakia reportedly targeted an abandoned weapons warehouse that belonged to Harakat Nouriddeen Al-Zinki near the town of Dart Izza in western Aleppo.

The Russian jets also targeted several sites near the town of Qabtan Al-Jabal in order to prevent Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham from seizing the contents inside.

These airstrikes by the Russian Air Force on Friday evening marked the first time this year that they have conducted an aerial attack against any group inside of Syria.
