EZRA Levant of Rebel Media was ‘barred’ from commenting on the court case of activist Tommy Robinson, who is suing Cambridgeshire Constabulary.
Judge Karen Walden-Smith, told Mr Levant that his tweets contained “pejorative, inaccurate and inflammatory language”.
In a meeting, that was photographed by Tabloid hacks, the Judge said that Levant ‘shouldn’t offer an opinion on the goings-on of the case,’ and told him that he should report it ‘without commentary.’
The Canadian media personality and supporter of Politicalite took to YouTube to express his disbelief at being told his live tweets were causing an issue.
He said: “There’s a problem here in the UK…. it’s not quite as free as it should be”
“Citizens don’t quite have the access to open justice as they should”
‘TREASURE YOUR FREEDOMS’
Levant told Americans and Canadians to ‘treasure’ their freedoms whilst they could, and suggested that us Brits should do something, and added: “It’s not for me to lead the charge for free speech.”
He added that: “I am here because I believe in justice and the hope it will come from this trial.”
“I’m here because I know the BBC, Sky News, the tabloids, etc. will not cover this trial fairly.”
“I’m here because Tommy’s a friend. And I’m here because hundreds of viewers crowdfunded me to be here.”
