An Israeli warplane carried out a powerful attack this evening over the T-4 Airbase in the eastern countryside of the Homs Governorate, a Syrian military source told Al-Masdar News.
The Israeli warplane managed to hit its target, despite facing several air defense missiles from the Syrian military.
According to the military source, the Syrian Air Defense deployed several s-200 missiles to take down the Israeli jet after it entered their airspace; however, the warplane successfully made evading the attack.
No further details were given, as the attack is still being investigated.
Tonight’s attack marks the first time since early June that the Israeli Air Force has bombed Syria.
In April, the Israeli Air Force bombed the T-4 Airbase, killing at least seven Iranian military personnel and seven Syrian Arab Army (SAA) soldiers.
Following this attack, the Syrian and Israeli forces had a fierce confrontation near the occupied Golan Heights, which resulted in the most intense air attack by Israel since the 1973 War.
